Review: HNRX ES Bondage Rubber Wrist Cuffs

Sex Toy Review of the HNRX ES Bondage Rubber Wrist Cuffs

The HNRX ES Bondage Rubber Wrist Cuffs are restraints made from high quality latex rubber. They are designed and made by one of the leading latex clothing brands Honour and boast of durability and high quality.

Rubber BDSM gear has been a long-time favourite in the fetish community and has been popular for almost 200 years. Even during the twentieth century sex workers would advertise that they had items made from latex rubber for restraining clients. Honour themselves have been heavily involved in influencing latex fetish wear for over 30 years, taking the lead in high quality designs at excellent prices without compromising the quality. I was excited to receive their wrist restraints as it made a change from my standard fabric or leather handcuffs.

Latex Handcuffs

When receiving the latex restraints to review at first, I had wondered if the latex rubber would be as strong as my leather cuffs. Generally, I associate latex as a thin stretchy material and was expecting the cuffs to be similar, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that these wrist cuffs were made from thick and strong rubber akin to what you would find on a tyre.

The rubber is X mm thick and whilst it is fairly flexible it doesn’t cling to the body like thinner fashion latex. The cuffs can fit wrists up to X cm in circumference, and due to there being a lot of buckle holes they should work for a variety or wrist shapes and sizes. The buckle holes go down to really small, too small for an adult wrist even, but I did find that on the smallest settings you are able to wrap the rubber around an erect penis and buckle it up. This means you could use a single cuff with a lead attached to walk your submissive around your play space if you wanted. The HNRX wrist restraints can also fit very slender ankles.

The cuffs have riveted metal pins holding the straps in place, they are smooth and don’t rub against the skin. The buckle offers the user the option to lock them as there is a hole for a padlock if desired.

Some of you may be wondering about the smell of the rubber cuffs. There are many who really enjoy the smell of latex rubber, for some, it can be highly erotic and arousing. The HNRX ES Bondage Rubber Wrist Cuffs don’t give off an over powering latex smell like latex clothing does. There is a faint aroma from the cuffs but it is very mild.

To link the cuffs together you will have to purchase a double trigger hook separately, which honour also stock. Due to not being linked together by chain this gives you the option of connecting different things to the wrist cuffs, such as rope, leads, hog-tie attachments.

Due to how sturdy the rubber is, it can take a little bit of time to break-in the cuffs. I found teasing the rubber with light flexes and bends helped greatly, otherwise it was a bit tricky to quickly loop around my submissives wrists at first. Once broken in I found the cuffs rested tightly against my subs skin making them inescapable. Even when they arched their body in response to my sadistic acts, they stayed restrained. I found that during longer sessions that the restraints could rub against my submissives flesh leaving marks particularly when things became rather heated.

The most impressive factor about the wrist cuffs is the fact that they are so sturdy! These are the cuffs I would choose if I was doing a forced confinement, dealing with a bratty submissive that likes to “fight” back, or even ones where suspension may be involved. These are some pretty tough and hardcore bondage gear and should last for ages.

Cleaning the rubber restraints, I simply washed them in a mixture of washing-up liquid and water and patted them dry with a towel. Due to the nature of rubber germs should not reside in the material and bodily fluids can be cleaned off easier than when compared to leather restraints.

Can the rubber be shines? Yes, it can! You can use some silicone latex shine to add a bit of sparkle to them, however for this particular item I prefer the dull matte rubbers appearance.

Overall, I think these rubber restraints are a good investment and should last longer than some fabric and leather handcuffs. They satisfy some of my submissives who have a particular fetish towards latex and rubber items, and work well alongside other fetish and BDSM gear when worn. Due to their appearance too, they can work nicely in fetish clips and photo shoots, maintaining that classic kinky look.

Thank you to Honour for sending me this item for my review. All reviews are written in an honest and unbiased manner.
